Welcome to another hour of A Touch Of Pink, your show for tracks with a pop trash / remix flava and an emphasis on GLBTIQ artists.

Favourites tonight include Bright Light Bright Light doing ‘Causing A Commotion’ from his Cinematography 2 EP of songs from films. That was a song from Madonna’s “Who’s That Girl’ film. I also love Soul Clap featuring Nona Hendryx on vocals, one of the original singers from Labelle (Lady Marmalade) and LGBTI. With honourable mentions to the Martin Garrix/Troye Sivan collaboration and the delightful 7^th Heaven remix of Isaiah’s ‘Don’t Come Easy’.

My Songs Of The Week 1: Ariana Grande’s gay brother has just brought out a spectacular new single called ‘Queen’. It recalls the glory glam excess days of the 70’s when Bowie,Annie Lennox and Jobriath led the androgynous rally to bring glamour and gayness to the charts. Now Frankie comes along calling himself a rock and roll fag, and the video is rather wonderful too.

My Songs Of The Week 2: The first official single from Perfume Genius’ 4^th album ‘No Shape’ is ‘Slip Away’ (see below). However, I have chosen to play ‘Just like love’ as it is more in line with most of the music on this show, and ‘Slip Away’ is more of a rock track. Nevertheless, the whole album is wonderful, and worth considering for fans of Antony and The Johnsons/Ahnoni etc, it’s beautiful delicate melodies and haunting vocals.

What have we seen this week ?

Movie : Handsome Devil : You gotta love this feel-good Irish movie, about a nerd going to a new high school where everybody there worships the game of rugby. He get called a gay immediately, and then meets his hunky rugby-playing room-mate. That’s just the start of this movie which is basically about being yourself, but it is heavily gay-themed, gay-friendly, and, yay!, a happy ending.
