The annual JOY 94.9 Radiothon kicks off on May 1 to strengthen the voice of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) communities across Australia.
The theme for this year is We Still Need JOY
The JOY Radiothon is the station’s primary fundraising activity and is responsible for keeping LGBTI voice OUT, LOUD & PROUD. Listeners will be encouraged to support JOY by signing up or renewing their membership and by giving donations to Australia’s only LGBTI community radio station.
Australia is making changes in advancing LGBTI rights, but our community still fight for equality and acceptance in many areas of daily life.
With marriage equality still not legal, we still need JOY 94.9 now, more than ever, to advocate for LGBTI rights.
We can’t do that without our community and ally support!
The only way JOY remains OUT, LOUD, and PROUD is with your membership and donations.
Proud JOY Patrons and long term supporters Gary Singer and Geoffrey Smith will again host the Hour of Power, to match your donations dollar-for-dollar!
Donate on Friday 19 May from 7:30am to 8:30am with breakfast hosts Anna & Dean on Murphy’s Law.
