Playwright Anthony Weigh on Friday Drive

In the studio, playwright Anthony Weigh talking about his latest work Edward II to be staged at the Malthouse Theatre 29 July – 31 August.
This is a modern take on a play by Christopher Marlowe (Sheakespeare’s era if you’ve momentarily forgotten!) Part of the play’s theme revolves around Edward’s relationship with Piers Gaveston, the bigger problem being not that these are two gay men but that Piers is insufficiently upper class for the king!
Anthony also gives an interesting insight into the global nature of writing a play and bringing it into production.
