Tropes in Queer Media

Queer people have grown increasingly tired of being used as a prop, although at times we may see positive representations of us on the screen. The majority of the time, it is the usual over-used trope that depicts negative images and perpetuates stereotypes. As well as the continuance of mainstream media attempts to blanket sexuality as black and white (gay or straight).
