Is Nothing Sacred
There is a queer aspect to most issues facing us in the wider society, and we will drill into these and split them open.
Sometimes it might be contrasting and sometimes it might be uncomfortable, but no sacred cow will be too sacred to escape our gaze.
This is a program for interested and activist gay men and lesbians and others in our queer communities.
We aim to provide an alternative analysis of current affairs.
Each week on Is Nothing Sacred a panel of three feisty young queers will be challenged by a respected community elder. The team include:
- Jim Hyde, involved with the community for almost 40 years, Jimpa is a gay man, a father and a grandfather; he has been at the forefront of community activism across South Australia, NSW and Victoria, and is now an academic at a leading university.
- Steph Amir is a policy activist, a circus performer and an emerging broadcasting whizz kid with JOY 94.9. Steph has opinions and she can flex and soar in the circus arena.
- James Cooper is a corporate slave; ask him about the internet, and he knows a political smell when it wafts past his nose. Don’t expect James to stay silent.
- Claire Weightman is a former federal education and employment policy writer, GLBTI community health advocate, clinical psychologist, media activist, author, journalist and budding screenwriter.
We aim to give a voice to as many views as possible along with some non-mainstream views. We are not your typical queer commentariat. We want to give you a voice in the gay community.
If you like your politics with a difference and a queer edge, then get involved via social media.
