New music to weekdays (27 May, 2015)

Måns Zelmerlöw – Heroes (WMS/WMA)
Olly Murs – Seasons (Adam Turner radio edit) (SME)
Little Mix – Black Magic (SME)
MKTO – Bad Girls (SME)
Giorgio Moroder ft. Sia – Déjà Vu (SME)
Rita Ora – Poison (SME)
Madeon ft. Mark Foster – Nonsense (SME)
Grace – You Don’t Own Me (Non-rap version) (SME) [AU]
Johnny Ruffo – She Got That O (SME) [AU]

The Eurovision Song Contest is over for another year and the winner’s song from Sweden’s Måns Zelmerlöw is pretty damn good. Given Sweden gave Australia douze points, as did Australia for Sweden, the least we can do is support Heroes.

Out-and-proud UK DJ-producer Adam Turner is on remix duties for Olly Murs’ latest single, ‘Seasons’.

The UK female foursome Little Mix hit the top of our charts multiple times a little while back and they’ve returned with the first single, ‘Black Magic’, from their third studio album. We expect it will hit similar heights on the charts.

American duo MKTO are recent favorites in Australia and on JOY. The first single, ‘Bad Girls’, from their forthcoming second studio album, is another little pop gem from the boys.

Can it get better than Giorgio and Kylie? Yes, it can! Giorgio Moroder and Sia team up for the title track from Giorgio’s forthcoming new album. Déjà vu is disco-pop heaven.

Rita Ora has had 12 months off after her last big solo hit produced by Calvin Harris. The Kosovo-born UK singer-songriter’s new single, ‘Poison’, is a pretty strong comeback.

French producer Madeon is one of our more recent faves at JOY. ‘Nonsense’ will be his fifth addition to our music mix in the past year.

Aussie music comes from Brisbane-based 17-year-old singer Grace. She’s covered Lesley Gore’s 1963 hit ‘You Don’t Own Me’ and, thanks to a TV sync with the Nine Network’s Love Child, is the number 1 track around the country this week.

And finally, X factor finalist, Dancing with the Stars winner and current Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo has dusted off his vocal cords for another stab at matching his debut platinum-selling single of 2011. ‘She Got That O’ is a cross between Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars in terms of style and, considering his fan base, could just get him back into the top 10.

Set your alarm and tune into Rochén and Michael on the six at six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
