Kicking our new music off this week, Australian X Factor 2012 winner and chart-topping singer-songwriter Samantha Jade is back with a new single – and thanks to JOY 94.9 and Sony Music, Sammi will be launching ‘Shake That’ at the GH Hotel on Saturday 18 July. ‘Shake That’ is ‘the delayed second studio album, Angel, which is now expected to be released later this year.

The Stafford Brothers have well and truly left their Gold Coast origins behind since relocating to LA three years ago. They now mix it with the big boys and their latest single has them collaborating with one of the biggest, Jay Sean. ‘When You Feel This’ is a new direction for the boys, with a distinct drum-and-bass style.

ASTA is a Tasmanian local who is new to Warner Music and new to our weekday playlist. Her single, ‘Dynamite’, is poptastic, and we think ASTA is a star in the making.

UK singer-songwriter Olly Murs is touring Australia in August and we will be playing ‘Never Been Better’, the fourth single from his fourth studio album, in anticipation.

Brit John Newman seems to have taken a cue from his recent collaboration with Calvin Harris. ‘Come and Get It’ is the first single from his forthcoming second studio album, and we can assure you it is no ballad.

Florence + The Machine are striking while the iron is hot. Their third studio album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, debuted at the top of the Australian charts and still sits in the top 5 after four weeks. ‘Queen of Peace’ is the third single from this brilliant album.

Set your alarm and tune into Rochén and Michael on the six at six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
