Melbourne band Strange Talk have a new eight-track EP and the first single, When it Feels So Good, is the top-quality synthpop we’ve come to expect from the boys.

Swedish producer Avicii continues to twist the dance genre, with a little more southern American country influence for the latest single lifted from Stories. Broken Arrows features Atlanta-based singer Zac Brown.

Meghan Trainor has recovered from nodule surgery to write and sing the title track for the Peanuts movie soundtrack. Better When I’m Dancin’ is great fun and sure to get you up on your feet.

The One Direction boys return with the second single from their fifth studio album, Made in the A.M. Perfect is another guaranteed hit and possibly their best release to date.

Sydney duo Set Mo are a fairly recent creation, and their collaboration with Sydney singer ALPHAMAMA sees an addition to JOY for the first time. We’re very impressed with ‘Chasing Forever’, and we think you will be too.

Sydney-based, Brisbane-born Kita Alexander, newly signed to Warner Music, demonstrates a maturity beyond her 19 years with her first major release, ‘Like You Want To’.

Canadian rockers Simple Plan have teamed up with American hip-hop artist Nelly for the first official single from their forthcoming fifth studio album. I Don’t Want to Go to Bed demonstrates a continued gravitation to pop that we’ve been enjoying since we first heard ‘Jet Lag’ with Natasha Bedingfield back in 2011.

Joe Gauthreaux is an in-demand DJ-producer for gay clubs across the US and Europe, and he’s teamed up with our favourite New York house and soul singer, Inaya Day. ‘You Are Family’ has been given a gay ol’ remix kick-along by New York-based out-and-proud DJ-producers Toy Armada and DJ Grind. It’s got ‘new summer anthem’ written all over it.

Sydney-based independent, out-and-proud singer-songwriter-producer Damien Mancell scores a first-time playlisting on JOY with a well-produced dance-floor party track.

UK singer Nicki French, best known for her 1995 hit cover of ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ and representing her home country for Eurovision in 2000, is back. Teaming up with Mike Stock (of Stock Aitken Waterman fame), who produced that smash hit 20 years ago, ‘This Love’, remixed by 7th Heaven, is pure JOY!

London and Ibiza-based out-and-proud American singer Peyton married his partner, Boris, last week in what they termed a ‘festival of love’ at their home in Ibiza. Congratulations, boys! Peyton has a new album, Ibiza House Sessions, that brings together 26 of his most uplifting tunes of the last 10 years. Included is a brand-new single in collaboration with out-and-proud DJ-producer Wayne G. ‘High’ is a cover of the 1998 hit song by Lighthouse Family, and you will love it.

Set your alarm and tune into Rochén and Michael on the six at six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
