New music to weekdays (27 April, 2016)
Aus Flag Icon Delta Goodrem Dear Life (SME)
Sigala ft. John Newman & Nile Rodgers Give Me Your Love (ASTRX/UMA)
Galantis No Money (WMA)
Jason Derulo If It Ain’t Love (WBR/WMA)
Alex Newell, Jess Glynne & DJ Cassidy Kill the Lights (Audien Remix) (ATL/WMA) Rainbow Flag Icon
Armin Van Buuren ft. Bullysongs Freefall (ARMADA/405R)

Kicking off our new music this week is Australian singer-songwriter-actress Delta Goodrem. She wowed us with her #1 hit ‘Wings’ last year and will perform the follow-up, ‘Dear Life’, two days after its release at the TV Week Logies Award night on 8 May, probably assuring another top 5 hit.

UK producer Sigala has a 3-from-3 strike rate so far. His latest single, Give Me Your Love, pulls out some mighty big guns in John Newman and Nile Rodgers for a high likelihood of a fourth worldwide hit.

Following the massive hit late last year, ‘Peanut Butter Jelly’, by Swedish production duo Galantis, there are high expectations for another massive song from them. No Money may take a couple of listens, but we think it’s going to get in your ear!

Jason Derulo continues to straddle the urban and dance genres and make a success of both. If It Ain’t Love mixes both in one song and is the first single from a forthcoming new album, potentially due later in the year.

Surprising the whole world, it seems, the HBO TV Series Vinyl has plugged into their soundtrack album, The Essentials: Best of Season 1, a song originally released over a year ago by DJ Cassidy featuring out-and-proud US singer-songwriter Alex Newell. This time around, however, the single mix of ‘Kill the Lights’ includes guitar riffs and production from the inimitable Nile Rodgers AND additional vocals from out UK singer-songwriter Jess Glynne. We’ve chosen the Audien Remix, and while it loses Nile Rodgers’ distinct retro-disco flavour, it definitely brings the song to a very gay dance floor near you.

Dutch DJ-producer Armin Van Buuren continues to impress us with his Embrace album. The fourth single, Freefall, is another great example of strong male vocals matched to his great songwriting and production skills – for the second time on this album he employs British singer-songwriter Bullysongs (Andrew Bullimore).

Set your alarm and tune into Rochén, Adam or Michael on the six at six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
