Veteran DJ-producer Paul Oakenfold, who has been in the industry for 20 years kicks off our new music this week. He’s teamed up with LA-based duo BRKLYN and Amba Shepherd, Australian dance-vocalist of choice for many current top producers for his latest single, ‘U Are’.

We first supported Brisbane band Starlight Theatre in 2011. Since then, they have been travelling the world and now consider themselves equally based in London, LA and Brisbane. The band’s hard-core rock underbelly belies a sweet pop-rock production, and we think you’ll love their latest single, ‘Ghost’.

From the moment ‘Release Me’ hit our airwaves in 2008 Zoë Badwi’s been a firm JOY favourite. Melbourne-born Zoë is based in our city and is a loyal supporter and member of JOY. She has spent the past two years recovering from a serious car accident, and it’s absolutely fantastic to welcome her back. She’s teamed up with Italian production duo Paki & Jaro, and ‘I Must Have Died’ is classic Euro-house-vocal. We love it – we think you will too.

Winner of Australia’s 2015 The Voice Ellie Drennan performed her new single on this week’s live program on Channel Nine, and we’re expecting big things chartwise for ‘Hard Love’.

The Grammy-winning collaboration of Dutch DJ-producer Tiësto and American singer-songwriter John Legend are back together for a new single, ‘Summer Nights’.

German DJ-producer Frans Zimmer is better known by his stage name Alle Farben (meaning “All Colours” in German). He has teamed up with German DJ-producer duo YOUNOTUS for a great new single, ‘Please Tell Rosie’.

Albanian-born Era Istrefi has been hitting the charts across Eastern Europe in the last few months with her debut single. A newly released English-language version sees her launched across the world with very high expectations. We think you’ll understand why when you hear ‘Bonbon’.

Sydney-based American singer-songwriter Kyle Bielfield hits our airwaves for a third time with the title track from his brand-new EP. ‘Boom and Bust’ is another excellent pop track from the classically trained vocalist with the five-octave range.

Swedish DJ-producer Otto Knows is best known as co-producer and co-writer of the Britney Spears hit ‘Work Bitch’. He’s teamed up with his best friend since grade 2, Tim Bergling (aka superstar DJ-producer Avicii), for his latest single, ‘Back Where I Belong’. It’s a nod to Avicii’s decision to give up touring and concentrate on studio music production.

Set your alarm and tune into Michael on the Six at Six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
