Kicking off our new music this week is the Norwegian duo Röyksopp, who came to world notice in 2014 working with Swedish artist Robyn on ‘Do It Again’. They’ve teamed up with compatriot Susanne Sundfør for Never Ever, creating a similar vibe to that previous top 20 hit.

Lifted from the Bridget Jones’s Baby original soundtrack album, Meteorite is the first new music for Years & Years (featuring out-and-proud lead singer Olly Alexander) since 2014.

Following up his massive worldwide success with ‘This Girl’, featuring Cooking with 3 Burners, French producer Kungs returns with Don’t You Know. It features a British blues, rock and folk singer, Jamie N Commons, on vocals.

We picked up on the debut single for out-and-proud American singer-songwriter Who is Fancy (aka Hagood Fancy) last year. Somehow we missed his follow-up single, Boys Like You, despite him having some very well-known help from bona fide pop stars Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor. We’re fixing that omission this week.

Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes has had two top ten hits in Australia in the past year. Mercy, the second single from his second studio album, is a mid-tempo offering that we think you will enjoy in our mix.

British DJ-producer-songwriter Jonas Blue was responsible for the massively successful cover of Tracy Chapman’s ‘Fast Car’ late last year. He’s back and has teamed up with British singer-songwriter JP Cooper for Perfect Strangers, which is already a top ten hit in Australia.

Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé is back after more than four years away from the studio. The lead single, ‘Hurts’, from her new album is exquisite.

Calvin Harris is up to single number four without any announcement as to whether he will be releasing a fourth studio album. With Disciples, Rihanna and Dizzy Rascal all featured previously, he’s gone with the option of featuring himself this time around. My Way is in fact the first time we’ve heard Calvin’s own vocals on a single since ‘Summer’ in 2014.

Set your alarm and tune into Michael on the Six at Six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
