Ricky Muscat is an independent Melbourne-based musician who has been building quite a reputation for himself recently. His band Muscat kicks off our new music this week with their second single, ‘Selfish’.

Burleigh Heads four-piece band Sunset City are just now finding their feet since forming in 2015. They’ve had two songs feature at Triple J Unearthed and the second of those, ‘Can I Go Back’, scores a debut addition here.

New York-based out-and-proud DJ-producer Joe Gauthreaux has teamed up with Inaya Day for a second time (previously for ‘You Are My Family’ in 2015), and ‘Urge in Me’ is already making its mark on the US Billboard dance charts, hitting #20 this week.

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has released two singles simultaneously as the precursor to his third studio album. They are in two very different styles, and as such cater to almost every radio market. We’re in – we’ve selected the uptempo pop-funk offering of ‘Castle on the Hill’.

Aussie hit-maker Sia just keeps on kicking goals, and ‘Move Your Body’, the second single to be lifted from  thedeluxe repackaging of This Is Acting, is our prediction for the first big seller of 2017.

British girl group Little Mix follow up their smash hit ‘Shoutout to My Ex’ with a more urban-influenced pop offering in ‘Touch’. We think you will like it.

Following up the 4 x platinum-selling debut single ‘Faded’ was never going to be easy for Norwegian producer Alan Walker. He has co-written his third single with Swedish singer-songwriter Noonie Bao, who has also lent her vocals to the track. Its a similar sound to the debut smash, but different enough to hopefully stand up on it’s own.

Set your alarm and tune into Michael on the Six at Six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
