Kicking off our new music is possibly the biggest surprise for us and possibly everyone else as well. Grammy-winning American alt-rock/nu-metal/electronic-rock stalwarts Linkin Park have teamed up with 21-year-old Illinois-based singer-songwriter Kiiara – best known for her 2015 2x platinum top five hit ‘Gold’ – and produced a brand-new single as a lead-in to their seventh studio album due out 19 May. ‘Heavy’ can only be described as great contemporary pop.

In less than two years, English singer-songwriter Anne-Marie has sold more than three million singles worldwide. Following up her solo smash hit, ‘Alarm’, and massive worldwide #1 ‘Rockabye’ with Clean Bandit, her latest single, ‘Caio Adios’, is almost guaranteed to be a hit.

Norwegian DJ-producer Kygo hasn’t produced any new music since May last year. Former Disney star and accomplished singer-songwriter Selena Gomez has similarly been absent, although in Selena’s case it was due to some health issues during her world tour that saw her take a full break from working. So it’s nice to see both artists collaborating on new music. ‘It Ain’t Me’ is an excellent return for them.

LA-based duo Frenship are still riding the wave of their hit debut single, ‘Capsize’ with Emily Warren, but have found time to release a new single. With ‘1000 Nights’,¬†they will be hoping for similar success as they have seen previously.

Set your alarm and tune into Michael on the Six at Six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
