/ JOY Music Mix / New music additions / New music to weekdays (5 July 2017)

Liam Payne
Strip That Down (Nevada Remix)
(CAP/EMI)
Robin Schulz
ft. James Blunt
OK
(ATL/WMA)

Just two additions this week. Kicking us off is the debut single for Liam Payne, best known for being a member of mega-successful boy band One Direction. ‘Strip That Down’ is already a bona fide smash hit, with top 40 positions in more than 20 countries and platinum certification in Australia; he is currently #2 on the Australian charts. As is the way with all the One Direction lads – apart from Zayn Malik – they’ve all gone for a far more acoustic sound with their solo efforts. For us, we prefer the more pop-oriented feel of this song courtesy of Stockholm-based producer Nevada.

Germany’s #1 selling artist of 2016, DJ-producer Robin Schulz, has teamed up with British crooner James Blunt, best known for his 2004 hits ‘You’re Beautiful’ and ‘Goodbye My Lover’. ‘OK’ is already a #1 hit in the German charts and is set for world domination in the next few weeks.

Set your alarm and tune into Michael on the Six at Six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
