Happy Valentine’s Day! Don’t worry if you don’t have a significant other to love today – you can love Melbourne’s most uplifting music mix instead!

Melbourne-based singer Joey Cirillo gets the new music started this week. Dropping his first name, Cirillo has released the first single from his debut EP, Where Life Is Fun. Think dreamy late-80s synth-pop, coupled with some sweet guitar, and you’ve got ‘Colour’. We’re looking forward to what else this lad has in store, and we think you’ll be loving his sound on JOY.

Lucy Neville started her performing career in the Australian Girls Choir and has come a long way since. This Sydney-based singer-songwriter has been picked up as hot new talent by Teen Vogue USA and has been named as a finalist in the Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition twice. ‘Ransom’ is the latest to come from a local girl who has over 600,000 monthly online listeners. You too will be held to ransom when you hear this one during the day.

Out-and-proud singer Peyton is a JOY favourite. He took the time to chat with John von Ahlen and Costa Lakoumentas on Neon Nights about himself and his music, ahead of a return to Australia later this month. Hot on the heels of the release of his new album, Sinners Got Soul Too, comes ‘Carry You’, remixed by former Hed Kandi DJ-producer Eric Kupper. It’s a hands-in-the-air delight and perfectly uplifting for your workday.

‘Carry You’ is not the only hands-in-the-air delight this week. British duo Shane Tremlin and Thomas Foley, aka Brunelle, will get you bumping and grinding to one of the most sing-out-loud songs you’ve heard so far this year. Laura White lends her vocals to ‘Ladykiller’. This one’s bound to turn your grey skies into blue, and the lyric video is just as fun.

Marshmello is American producer Christopher Comstock. He’s been making it big lately – both Silence alongside Khalid and Wolves with Selena Gomez peaked at #5 on the ARIA chart. British singer Anne-Marie has also been charting like crazy. Her 2016 breakout release, Alarm, has set the scene for some major musical treats. They team up to help you spell ‘Friends’, and we think you’ll be shouting along in no time.

Finally, Scottish electro-pop trio CHVRCHES are back! ‘Get Out’ is the first single since they released Every Open Eye back in 2015, and it’s a banger. They’ve done well in Triple J’s Hottest 100 in the past, scoring three entries in 2013 and two in 2015, but will this one get them back in for 2019?
