Stuart Soley

Community, Society & Culture

Throughout its 160 years, St Marks in Fitzroy has cared for the homeless, the poor and society’s forgotten peoples. When HIV first took hold of Melbourne’s gay community, St Marks was there at Fairfield House to counsel those waiting to die.

Today it’s a church that still welcomes the GLBTI community with open arms, even if the hierarchy of the Church have a differing opinion.  The Vicar is Stuart Soley, the Father of Fitzroy.
