Marriage Mutiny

News & Politics, Podcast

It is a momentous occasion in the GLBTI community, as Macca and Pete honour the widespread legalisation of gay marriage by the American Supreme Court. Ginny  on location in New York City, gives her first-hand experience of this announcement. Meanwhile, on the island of Pitcairn, High Councillor Kevin Mitch tells about how this tiny Pacific dependency passed the same bill, despite its minuscule populace.

Pete presents an interview he did with American ambassador John Berry two years ago that compared the progress in marriage equality between the two leading nations, followed by president Barack Obama’s speech in light of how far the U.S. has come.

Brett McDonald is called from Sydney to elaborate on Dry July, a cause for month-long sobriety – which Pete and Macca take on board as the group SatMag Fags.

For the second hour, David Knox comes on to thrash reality TV.

Then Stephen A. Russell shares his thoughts on the 100 Greatest Movie Character lists, as well the newest films in theatres.

Mick Johnson, a card-dealing magician, sheds lights on the Melbourne Magic Festival.

Pete presents another interview, this time with Ben Rothemberg in London to report on the Wimbledon Grand Slam.

Aired on 27th of June, 2015.
