MIFF 2015: Sebastian Silva and Nasty Baby

Thursday August 6th 2015 : Second Breakfast on JOY 949. Sonja Hammer has the wonderful and talented Sebastian Silva, actor, artist and film maker in the studio LIVE for the Second Breakfast talking about his latest film the independent and ‘queer’ genre movie Nasty Baby now screening at the Melbourne International Film Festival 2015! 

Nasty Baby has had rave reviews and has won prestigious awards like the Teddy Award for best LGBT-themed feature film at this years Panorama section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival !

Sebastian talks to Sonja about his experiences as a film maker and the perceptions and assumptions people have about what is ‘gay’ or ‘queer’ cinema. He talks race and gender stereotypes and what is was like working with people like Kristen Wiig ( Bridesmaids (both 2011), Girl Most Likely (2013),The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013), the animated Despicable Me film series and The Skeleton Twins (2014)) and Gaby Hoffman ( Lyle, Transparent, Girls and Crystal Fairy and The Magic Cactus).
