Katie Purvis recently spoke to Canadian soul/pop singer-songwriter Ann Vriend by phone from Ann’s home in Edmonton, Canada. Ann has visited and performed in Australia so many times that she is regarded by local music fans as an honorary Aussie. She and Katie chat about the similarities and differences between the music scenes in Canada and Australia, Ann’s forthcoming tour of Australia’s eastern states (February-March 2017), and her latest single and video, ‘Anybody’s Different’, which has a powerful message about people in the world all fundamentally wanting the same things.
