United For Marriage Equality seeks volunteers & Uber responds to weekend harassment

United for Marriage Equality is based at Trades hall and has much planned for the marriage equality issue before the election with door knocking, mock marriages and other events to remind us that this is an election issue.

Alana and Dylan call out for volunteers as United for Marriage Equality gears up their campaign

Alana and Dylan are seeking volunteers. The Marriage equality rally is on Saturday 25th of June and there are events until the election on July 2nd.

This week they join us in the studio at The Informer.

We also have talked to Uber about their response to the incident involving one of their drivers and a lesbian couple on their way home from the footy. The audio from the cab is shocking and Uber’s response is swift and decisive.

Ruby was able to to have a chat with an Uber representative about this event, and the nature of Uber’s discrimination policies, and reported back on the implications for the LGBTI community.
