Journo’s Corner: WTF is going on in Aussie politics and how do we win the postal survey on marriage equality? August 17, 2017

We were joined by Australia’s leading LGBTI journos to dissect the craziness that has been the past fortnight in Australian politics.

On the panel were:

Michael Koziol, Immigration, legal affairs and politics at Fairfax Media
Amy Coopes, Editor, Croakey News
Matt Thomson, Nova Radio Journalist and former JOY Journalist.
Over the past two weeks the Australian Government went ahead with the plans for a postal survey on marriage equality, more and more federal politicians got caught up in the dual citizenship saga and Pauline Hanson turned up to the Senate wearing a burqa. Is the craziest time in Australian politics ever? Or just par for the course in Canberra.
Next we ask how reporting on marriage equality has affected them as LGBTI journalists. But most importantly we asked all three journos how they think we can get a ‘yes’ vote in the upcoming marriage equality survey.
