Mental Health Week

Education, Personal Journals, Sexuality, Society & Culture

Hey Unicorn Youth-ers!

Well this has been a big week for us!

What an achievement with the plebiscite being blocked. I just want to say a big thank you to you all that signed petitions, attended rallies and had your voice heard! We still have a while to go but this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Also – happy International Coming Out Day for yesterday! Coming out is never easy and a thing we will probably never stop doing. But let’s celebrate and hope this life milestone will continue to get easier for every new generation.

Do you know what else this week is? Mental Health Week! So there is no better time than now to talk about this super important topic. I’ve been wanting to talk about this for a long time, but I am glad I waited till now, as three wonderful guests have made themselves available tonight. Our guests are going to tell you their stories and share their thoughts on mental health and how that impacts young LGBTQIA people.

Thanks to our guests tonight: Danny (14), Riley (25), Cece (25) and Psychiatrist Alan Gallogly.

ALSO! Applications are open for a scholarship place for budding radio presenters! Check out all the info here!
