WHAT HAVE WE SEEN LATELY ?

FILM : JEFF WAYNE’S WAR OF THE WORLDS ALIVE ON STAGE : Well, it was a film of the stage performance of the original concept album from 1978. Firstly, the music was excellent,  the featured singers were all very good, and the multi media presentation added a visual element, but it was based on the 1978 album, so it would probably appeal mainly to the baby boomers amongst you. As I fit into this category, I enjoyed it, but probably of little interest or relevance to the young ‘uns.

PLAY : THE DEATH OF PETER PAN : This was a wonderful play narrated by the J M Barrie character, based on the fatal love affair between the boy he based the Peter Pan character on, and a school chum that the boy had a love affair with. It was all very tastefully produced, very atmospheric and in fully appropriate costumes. It was like stepping back in time to another era. Highly recommended.
