/ A Touch of Pink / Music / SHOW 431 / 8 JUN 2013

Welcome to another  TOUCH OF PINK, your one stop show for everything that’s a little bit gay and a little bit girly, so we’re talking trash pop, ok?

New this week are tracks from Beyonce, Agnetha, Carly, Sally, Eric, ,Kylie and many many more.

We’re also excited to have the StooShe album “London With The Lights On” in our grubby little hands, and it’s AMAZING. We’ll try and play some new tracks soon.

We’re also loving the Great Gatsby Soundtrack, and the now released Kinky Boots Broadway Soundtrack is very good. Cyndi Lauper has written some great songs.

Here follows tonight’s playlist. Tune in to us this Saturday on JOY 94.9 from  7pm for 26 tracks in 2 hours (yes, we know!). Your hosts are Dennis and Dick

WHAT HAVE WE SEEN LATELY ?

FILM : THE GREAT GATSBY : What to say? Well, it looked amazing, the acting was excellent, especially Toby Maguire, and the soundtrack worked well. That said, the characters were mostly hard to like, so I didn’t connect with the film as much as I wanted to. It came off as a bit cold. But the plot was good, the photography excellent, and perhaps I’m just being a bit picky.

FILM : HAPPINESS NEVER COMES ALONE : This was my second viewing of this French rom-com. I originally saw it as part of the French Film Festival, and was a bit underwhelmed. But seeing it again, I really enjoyed. It was a simple story about a guy who meets a girl, they fall in love, then he finds out she is separated with 3 kids … and he doesn’t like kids, so it’s all off. Then he finds he can’t live without her etc. The acting though is really good, the lead characters are the kids are well rounded, the slapstick is well done, and I just loved the romance of it all. Which is what I was hoping for with The Great Gatsby. Quelle domage!
