Welcome to a very special ALL AUSTRALIAN Touch Of Pink — two full hours of the best Australian dance pop. I could pick out some favourites for your attention, but really, they’re all pretty darn good, and all worthy of your attention. But there are some wonderful newbies that have real potential … Joel Sarakula, Ms Murphy, Smile On Impact and Lancelot ft Antony and Cleopatra.

Single Of The Week is “Only One Still Dancing” by Joel Sarakula. It’s a cute bouncy soul boy track, he’s Australian and there’s a great video (bring back the mullet!). What’s not to like?

Here follows tonight’s playlist. Tune in to us this Saturday on JOY 94.9 from  7pm for 26 tracks in 2 hours (yes, we know!). Your hosts are Dennis and Dick.

What Have We Seen ThIs Week ?

Movie : 12 Years A Slave : The new film for UK diector Steve McQueen, about a black man kidnapped from Washington in 1943 and taken down South and sold into the slave trade. It was a very powerful statement, perhaps a bit too powerful at times, as it makes for difficult viewing. However, as this illegal slave trade still continues, it is a useful reminder of what it can do to a person. Worth consideration, but not for those of a nervous disposition.

Dick’s Top 5 Videos For The Week

Lorde No better (lyric video)

Pigeon Two Moon Love (ultra cool clubbing performance video)

Cosimo De Vito Hot Stuff (2013 acoustic version)

R$hab & Nervo & Ummet Ozcan  Revolution (Mad Max lives And Nervo are Spectacular)

Tina Arena Reset All (aaaaahhhhh)

Bonus Track

Ms Murphy Ritual Union (such an amazing voice, think Sharon Jones, really!)

That’s your lot ….. now sashay away …
