Welcome to another Touch Of Pink blog page, 2 hours chock full of dance pop, a little bit girlie and a little bit gay, from all around the world. So sure me!

My particular favourites for this show are Calvin Harris, Dan Croll, Indiana, Holiday Sidewinder, Scarlette Fever and Prince. It should be noted that Afrojack takes an amazing song from 30 Seconds To Mars and turns it into dancefloor mayhem. The original video starring Jared Leto is also pretty amazing.

Single Of The Week is “Do something” from The Luminites, a new UK band. It’s fun and fresh and just a feel good track

What Have We Seen ThIs Week ?

Film: The Monuments Men : The one with George Clooney, Matt Damon etc, where they go to Germany to find where Hitler has hidden all the stolen works of art, and to stop him destroying the others. Not quite as high energy as I was expecting, but nevertheless entertaining, and informative to find out what was going on with all the art works, as the film was based on a true story.

Melbourne Queer Film Festival FILMS

Hawaii : You’d either love this film as I did, or think it was a bit long and a bit slow. It was a long lingering look at these 2 childhood friends, now grown up into very attractive Argentinean men, as their paths cross, and their relationship changes from friends to … well, I won’t spoil the ending, but suffice to say it all happened very slowly against the lush Argentinean landscape, as the tension between them slowly rose to fever pitch … would they, wouldn’t they?

Rosie : Everybody, including myself, seemed to enjoy this film about an elderly but very feisty German woman, slowly coming to terms with not being able to look after herself at home. Her (gay) son and daughter were in conflict about what was to be done, who would look after her, should she be put into a nursing home? It was a multi layered film, about the son, the daughter, the mother, all had issues in their lives, and the film brilliantly captured it all. And very timely, as many in the gay community are having to face up to the prospect of aging parents and what should be done to keep some dignity in their lives.
