Welcome to my Touch Of Pink blog page, and the last 2 hours chock full of trash-pop. Next week I’ll be moving to the Saturday 6-7pm slot, so I hope you’ll join me there, followed by Michael’s Babble Pop from 7-8pm.

This week we’re playing a few boy bands, a few of our favourite gays, a few indietronica artists, and, if I say so myself, a broad cross section of wonderful trash pop. Something for everyone.

Single Of The Week is “Aftermath (here we go)” from Dave Aude featuring gay royalty on vocals, Andy Bell. It’s a simple enough tune, but it’s short and sweet and catchy, and who doesn’t like Andy’s voice?

What Have We Seen ThIs Week ?

Film: 300: Rise Of An Empire: It’s been around a while, but because of MQFF we put it on hold. Now we’ve seen it and it was fun. Lots of blood and gore, huge boat fights on the open waters, plus a couple of ladies. And they actually had good fighting roles. Not to forget all those topless men, and a few Aussies … It was not as visually spectacular as the first 300, but ok for a hot afternoon in Chaddy.

Melbourne Queer Film Festival FILMS

Cupcakes: Fairly amateurish (but in a good way) story about a group of friends who go into a Eurovision-type of song contest. They get caught up in all the music business hoopla, nearly sell out but then save the day. Lots of fun, tragic tunes and even tragic-er costumes, but it had a happy ending and they all lived happily ever after (I made that bit up).

DVD: The Passenger: Another sexy German film about a very sinister but attractive man who goes from city to city making friends (male and female) and then possibly killing them. No masterpiece but entertaining enough.
