We discuss the remolding of language and the Anniversary of the death of Rock Hudson in 1985, from complications of AIDS.

November 18, 1978 saw the Jonestown Massacre when 918 followers drank kool-aid and died.
At Kings Cross [UK] railway stationNovember 18, 1987 – 31 people died in a fire & there were subsequent changes to building codes to minimise loss of lives.

Locally, in 1834 there was an illegal settlement at Portland, in Victoria, by William Henty and it wasn’t until 1926 that Australia lost its “dominion” status & could conduct its own state affairs; and we commemorate the opening of the Olympic Games Melbourne 1956.
