This week, we remember birthdays of gay notables, beginning with US talk show host Rosie O’Donnell, Australian lesbian authors Dorothy Porter and Andrea Goldsmith (who were also a couple), tennis player Renee Stubbs, as well as gay US writers Walt Whitman (d: 26/3/1892) and Tennessee Williams.

We are reminded how a prince of the church and a prince of the realm were notorious by having ‘interesting’ companions of the bed-chamber.

We also throw in trivia about meteorology, telegraph cables, wikis, and plane disasters. Phil adds a record number of Simpsons’ references and embellishes our chats about Capt James T Kirk, Leonard Nimoy, Popeye and spinach.
