Students Get Creative with Artist Workshops

Saxophonist and improvising musician Rob Burke, Co-ordinator of Jazz and Popular studies at the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music at Monash University visited Bent Notes with Ash, a music student at the school, to chat about the means by which music students receive great benefit from participating in workshops and performances with visiting musicians.

Jazz drummer, composer, singer and record producer Terri Lyne Carringon will be conducting workshops and rehearsals with the Monash Uni Jazz students before a performance at the Melbourne Recital Centre as part of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.

Hear what both Rob and Ash had to say about the joyful learning experience that they are about to experience as part of the festival.  The Workshop on Monday June 4 is open to the public via the MIJF website.

Rob Burke and Ash were guests of Bent Notes on Sunday May 27, 2018.
