Festival Fun at this years MWIJF!

Sonja Horbelt chatted with David Moyle when she visited the Bent Notes Studio as the Chairperson and co-Artistic Director of this years Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival.

Sonja spoke of the amazing artists performing in the festival and the opportunities that an all female festival provides in a male-dominated industry, and the amazing aspect of Jazz where the audience experience the communication of THE NOW when Jazz Musicians communicate through improvisation.

The festival opens on Sunday December 2 and runs until Sunday December 9 with Sandy Evans performing at the Melbourne Recital Centre with other performances at The Jazzlab.

Artists included in the festival include Harriet Allcroft, Andrea Keller, Sandy Evans, Lijuka, Bashka, The Merinda Dias-Jayasinha Trio, Jam Jar and Fem Belling.

Sonja Horbelt was guest of Bent Notes on Sunday November 11, 2018
