To celebrate the annual JOY 94.9 / 2ser broadcast from the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade, JOY took over the airwaves in Melbourne AND Sydney on Saturday 2nd March from 3pm.

JOY broadcast live from 3pm on the Star Observer Pop-Up station in Sydney playing a mega Mardi Gras mix of music with interviews, on the spot reports (including weather updates!) and more from our team in Sydney.

Here are a selection of the photos taken by the JOY 94.9 social media team:

Then from 6 to 7 pm, JOY broadcast on both stations before crossing to Sydney for the live Mardi Gras broadcast. 2ser 107.3 brought the parade live to listeners across Sydney on the Star Observer Pop-Up station while JOY 94.9 did the same back to Melbourne, and both broadcast to the rest of the world online and via their respective free apps. The broadcast could also be heard across Australia on the Community Radio Network. JOY & 2ser are the only community broadcasters to bring you the glitz and glamour live from the parade.
