/ News / Leaf Us On – 25 Years Proud

JOY’s Autumn grid has been underway with plenty of great content and highlights to share.

Before we get into the program updates though, make sure you put Radiothon 2018 in your calendar.

Our theme for this year is ‘25 Years Proud’ as we celebrate our 25th anniversary of broadcasting LGBTI events, breaking news and celebrating our culture achievements and pride. On Air week kicks off June 1 to June 8 with donation week from 25 to 30 June to end the financial year.

Wednesday Drive remains MAD with the addition of real housewives of Melbourne Venus, who has joined Dean Arcuri and Dylan Joel after Michael Dalton retired from the slot after nine amazing years. MAD Wednesday airs 4pm-6:30 AEST.

Tom, from Gogglebox Australia, has made the successful move from daytime to breakfast with his co-host Warren. Warren’s return to the shift has been long awaited. Tom & Warren, produced by Andy McCutcheon, airs Thursday 6:30-9am AEST.

Our daytime programming continues to showcase Australian and LGBTI+ artists with Melbourne’s most uplifting Music Mix, weekdays 9am-4pm AEST.

Over the next few weeks, JOY is ‘All Aboard’ with Eurovision hits across our curated playlist.

JOY Music Director and Eurovision fanatic Michael Polh is over in Portugal covering the annual spectacle whilst still presenting his program JOYEurovision which airs Saturdays 8-9pm AEST. Download the podcast here.

JOY’s news and current affairs programming reports on the issues that matter to our diverse LGBTI+ communities. News bulletins air through the mornings and afternoons to keep you up to date with the world around you lead our News Director Gary Wilson and News Coordinator Colin Tyrus.

JOY goes deeper Monday to Thursday evenings with The Informer. Executive Producer Dean Arcuri leads a team committed to exploring the issues that matter to you. Every Saturday morning at 9am AEST, The Informed delivers highlights of the week’s programming followed by Saturday Magazine presented by David ‘Macca’ McCarthy and his hard working team from 10am-midday AEST.

JOY’s podcasts make accessing our programming easier. There were 36,000 podcast downloads in the April.

Our most podcasted programs including Neon Nights, Saturday Magazine and The Informer.

Neon Nights, hosted by John Von-Ahlen and Costa Lakoumentas, airs Saturday 7-8pm AEST, with new and classic electronic dance/pop from across the globe. Download the podcast here.
