Fostering Connections was launched by Jenny Mikakos MP, Minister for Families and Children on 21 January 2016 and the project brings together Victoria’s 25 foster care agencies to deliver a unified campaign and brand Fostering Connections to raise awareness of foster care and make it easier for people interested in becoming a carer to take the first step. They have implemented a central dedicated website and an enquiry line which provides greater capacity to respond to enquiries from potential carers.

Foster carers across Victoria welcome children and young people into their hearts and their homes. Their families come in all shapes and sizes – some are single, while others are partnered. Some have biological children, others don’t. Some are LGBT. Carers come from every cultural background, social background and income level. But every single one of them cares about children and wants to make a difference. If that sounds like you, Fostering Connections would like to hear from you.
