The time has come, David and Sue’s last Friday Drive show.

Dolly Diamond drops in for a fond farewell and Todd McKenney is in for a laugh and a chat in spite of his shock at the news.

David and Sue still provide plenty of laughs but it’s the listeners who say it all. This crazy duo will be missed.

As a special treat, the final hour is request hour and all the music is included in this podcast before David and Sue sign off.

Melbourne traffic! Sue arrives after being stuck in yet another traffic jam. Maybe that’s why she gets David to reminisce about childhood games and ask listeners what songs are on their minds. That’s before she moves on to “Who’s that singer” where it’s Listeners 5, David 1. But what’s really on listeners’ minds is Friday Drive with David and Sue almost at its end. With “thanks for the memories” and “we’re going to miss you”, perhaps Jebediah and Grant sum it up best: We love Sue and David. You’re completely nuts. And that’s the way we like it.

David & Sue’s Big News on Friday Drive

To paraphrase the Beatles, “Did you hear the news on Friday Drive, oh boy … … the news was rather sad”.

Another episode of Friday Drive starts with David and Sue’s usual craziness and an interview with director Matthew Cox and performer Cazz Bainbridge from “SEMINAR: a comedy”, now on at Chapel off Chapel

But then comes The News : Friday Drive with David and Sue is coming to an end. Their last turn at driving you home, driving you mad, driving you crazy will be on 25 Nov. Chris and Cam are taking over from 2 Dec, with Dano and Mason taking care of Thursday Drive.

For the rest of the show there are kind messages of appreciation, sadness and support, interspersed with the weird facts and crazy questions that only Sue can come up with. David and Geoffrey don’t have a clue and there are some disputes and corrections from their more knowledgeable Friday Drive on-the-road audience (hands free of course!).

David and Sue are back after holidaying over the Melbourne Cup very long weekend. David didn’t back the winner despite being given a tip. Clever. Not.

Sue, who doesn’t like racing, went to the beach but didn’t see the sea. Seriously!

Tonight we hear that David and Sue don’t know much about films. But Geoffrey likes dress-ups. Who knew? Do you have to hand in your Gay Card if you haven’t seen, in full, at one sitting, The Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz?
