Many of us have seen a therapist over the years, and traditionally this involved turning up to their clinic, sitting in their waiting room before being taken into a (hopefully comfortable) private counselling room.
COVID-19 necessitated one of the fastest uptakes of Telehealth (or video-based sessions) across the world. And… a lot of clients and therapists are continuing to use this format even after lockdowns are a fading memory. JOY Breakfast’s resident clinical psychotherapist Ando chatted with Rach & Dean to answer the question “Are video-based therapy sessions actually effective?”
If you do need support you can find LGBTQIA+ friendly support services through the JOY website at www.joy.org.au/support, and you can catch Ando in a more light hearted jovial role Saturday mornings here on JOY hosting Weekend Breakfast from 8am.
