What exactly is psychedelic-assisted therapy?

Australia’s first purpose built psychedelic-assisted therapy clinic will commence taking expressions of interest from potential clients. Clarion Clinics, which is set to open its doors in September, will provide a highly specialised course of psychedelic-assisted therapy for people suffering with post-traumatic stress disorder or treatment-resistant depression.

Suresh Sundram is a psychiatrist and neuroscientist, Chair and Head of the Department of Psychiatry at Monash University. Professor Sundram has conducted more than 40 investigator-initiated clinical trials with multiple pharmaceutical companies and has been conducting cutting edge clinical research using psychedelic agents in mental disorders leading up to this.

But with all this scientific research and investigation, how does this affect us, every-day folk who may suffer from PTSD or TRD, so Rach & Dean invited Professor Suresh Sundram to break it down for them on JOY Breakfast.
