On a fabulous June evening Wayne from Monday Breakfast and Raena from Technogaze on JOY frocked up and set off for the Annual Queens Ball held in Meanjin, Brisbane. Picture this: Brisbane City Hall transformed into a kaleidoscope of sequins, tuxedos, and rainbow flags swaying to a rhythm that’s equal parts disco throwback and modern anthem. For 60+ years, this glittering beast of a party has been our community’s beating heart.
Wayne and Raena caught up with some of the award winners and attendees, hear their chats in this special edition podcast.

Steps 4 Migraines

On Sunday 16 June Steps4migraine will put a focus on Australia’s number one cause of
disability and its huge physical, social and economic toll, with all funds raised going to
education, service delivery and research in this field.
In the lead up to World Migraine Day, Steps4migraine participants will tread a combined total
of five million steps across the Melbourne CBD (from Flagstaff Gardens to Treasury Gardens)
to signify the five million Australians who suffer from migraine.
The event will also highlight how people can help prevent brain disorders (including chronic
migraine) and keep their brains healthy by adopting the new ‘Life’s Ten’ approach – 10 lifestyle
habits, including simple exercise, stress management and quality sleep.
The ‘Life’s Ten’ will be demonstrated via a series of interactive brain health hubs featuring
displays and activities at Treasury Gardens, including an Australian-first on-the-spot vascular
health status check using AI algorithm analysis of pictures taken of individuals’ retinas.

Paul and Rach were joined on the line by Professor Tissa Wijeratne to discuss how migraines are affecting millions of Australians.
