/ JOYful Days / Arts / Marzo – 2014 Melbourne Festival – Teodora and Agata Castellucci

Performers, Choreographers and concept artists Teodora and Agata Castellucci  join Mark in the Studios at JOY 94.9 to talk about an amazing production at this years Melbourne Festival – Marzo

Six eerie beings dance out a ferocious drama amid the foreboding rumblings of an icy alien landscape. Winter fades, and spring blooms in violence.

Dynamic young Italian artists’ collective Dewey Dell have joined forces with manga artist Yuichi Yokoyama and Kuro Tanino, Artistic Director of Japanese theatre company Niwagekidan Penino, to create Marzo, an impeccably stylized dance work with a stunning visual aesthetic – eccentric and fantastical.

Lifting its name from William Faulkner, Dewey Dell was formed in 2007 by four young artists: Teodora, Demetrio and Agata Castellucci, and Eugenio Resta. Last seen in Melbourne as part of the Next Wave Festival in 2012, Dewey Dell continues to garner attention as a unique and highly original force in European dance.
