Toilets: Political or Personal?

gender2When we think of Queer rights we often look to the US as leaders. In the US, same sex marriage rights is available in a majority of states and yet, here in Australia, this is a right we don’t have. In Florida last week, a bill was put forward that essentially forbids transgender people from using the public bathroom that matches their preferred gender, if the bill is passed, any tans person who violates the act could be sentences to one year in prison.

Lana Woolf explores whether there is a bathroom debate in Australia, by talking to the Australian Human Rights Commissioner, Tim Wilson and Andrea, an intersex person who was assigned male at Birth who transitioned to female.
