Single Review – Alana Wilkinson’s Closer
Poetry meets folk in Alana Wilkinsons ‘Closer’. What a burst of light she is! Seriously though, after watching the film clip for Closer I am convinced she actually is a ray of sunshine! She breathes life into ‘Closer’ with her golden charm, guitar and beautiful voice. The up beat, joyful track is the perfect way to welcome Summer. Her voice reminds me of a young, more upbeat Amy Winehouse or perhaps even Australia’s own Odette.
It is still very early days for Alana Wilkinson but with a voice like that I’m sure she is going to go far. How could she not?
She will be playing at the Queenscliff Music Festival on 23 November and playing at the Woodford Folk Festival on the 27th of December.
