/ Mad Wednesdays / Government & Organisations / Federal Funding Cuts to Switchboard’s Elderly Visiting Service

CEO of Switchboard Victoria Joe Ball joined Dean on MAD Wednesday to talk about their campaign to reverse the federal funding cuts to save our communities older persons visiting service, Out & About.

Out & About is a peer service connecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or intersex (LGBTI) people across Victoria reducing social isolation and loneliness experienced by older members of our LGBTI community. This is done by creating community connections and encouraging intergenerational friendships.

But federal funding cuts have dealt a massive blow to this integral service for seniors in our communities, but there is something you can do about it.

Here is three ways to help:

(1) let the Federal Minister Ken Wyatt and shadow minister Julie Collins know this is an issue you care about. #KenWyattFundOurLGBTIService

(2) organise a fundraiser for Switchboard Victoria – crowd fundraiser campaigns are easy through our GiveNow Account

(3) donate today
