Shelley Argent – more than ‘Just a Mum’

‘I’m just a Mum’ Shelley Argent proudly tells Dean in this extended MAD Wednesday interview.

Launching her new book around the country, she shared what spurned her to create this autobiography and share her love for her son; and the grit,  determination and persistence  that helped realise some of the biggest human rights reforms in Australian history.

 

Shelley has two sons, one straight and one gay. In her determination to see both seen as equals, she has spent more than 20 years fighting for the legal, financial, parenting and marriage rights of the Australian LGBTIQ community.

 

In this extended interview, Shelley and Dean talk about the past, and what we need to do as we fight for equal rights in our future.
