Queer Community Cruise to Dark Mofo

Adam Bold from Points of Difference Travel & Events joined MAD Wednesday and told us about the Queer Community Cruise heading to Dark Mofo in June.

Come cruising for 6 nights and join a fun, friendly community gathering onboard the special P&O cruise from Sydney to Hobart to celebrate the winter solstice of dark delights.

Hosted by Frock Hudson, this special LGBT+ group onboard Pacific Explorer, means you get all the joy of the cruise experience with a fabulously queer twist!

Departing Sydney Tuesday 18 June, with 3 days + 2 nights in Hobart, before arriving back in Sydney the morning of Monday 24 June 2019.

Get ready for a fab IGLA2020 fundraiser with Queens of the Pool

Paul Whelan from the Melbourne Glamourheads joined Robbie & Dean on MAD Wednesday to talk about the teams fundraiser for the International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics Associations Gay Games, Queens of the Pool.

A drag battle being held at Sircuit on Saturday 23rd March will see Melbourne Surge and the Glamourheards battle it out to raise funds which will help set-up the website and marketing to reach overseas competitors for IGLA2020 in Melbourne next year.

Hosted by Art Simone, performers Donatella Whyfe and Johnny Gash from the Glams first drag fundraiser will return as well as Todd Patrick in a show that’s not to be missed.

IGLA has been running since 1987 and formed as a spin off of the Gay Games with sports include swimming, water polo, diving, synchronised swimming and open water swimming. This year IGLA 2019 will be in New York to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots and next year it will be held in Melbourne. 500-600 competitors are expected to hit our shores for IGLA2020 held the week before Mardi Gras and are planning on hosting a float for competitors.

Jeremy Martin’s El Camino for Minus18!

We chat to Jeremy Martin who is planning to walk across the Camino de Santiago in 26 days to raise money for Minus18! This incredible 775km pilgrimage trail across Northern Spain has been on Jeremy’s Bucket List for many years and he is honoured to raise money for Minus18, which holds a special place in his heart.

We find out his strategies to get through each day from favourite albums to podcasts to chatting to other walkers on the trail.
