Gay Ski Week Australia is coming to Falls Creek this September

Adam Bold from Points of Difference Touring and Events joined Rach and Dean for their final MAD Wednesday to talk about Gay Ski Week Australia, coming to Falls Creek in September.

With people concerned about the Covid Restrictions, Adam was happy to talk about how the event would move forward allowing people to hit the slopes and paint the mountain rainbow.

Proud 2 Play Sports Precinct at Midsumma Carnival

Proud 2 Play are bring the Sports Precinct back to Midsumma Carnival and this year it is bigger and better than ever.

Leasa Mann and Luke from Proud 2 Play joined Robbie and Dean on MAD Wednesday to tell us all about what you can expect at Sundays carnival.

The Sports Precinct will be filled with a host of inclusive sporting teams. Have you thought about trying a sport or kicking the year off with something new? Then this is the place to be. In a comfortable and social environment you can talk to members from the teams and find out what they are all bout, plus there is a heap of entertainment filled with sporty fun including a club vs club lip sync battle, sports demonstrations and more.

Our communities stepping up, fundraising for Bush Fire Relief

MAD Wednesday with Robbie and Dean returned to the airwaves for 2020 with a more serious tone than planned.

With bush fires raging across the country, we used the bulk of our show to highlight individuals and organisations in our communities, holding fundraisers for those affected by the fires – from people, wildlife and more.

In this podcast they speak to:

Dean Murphy from Rock City who has combined with POOF DOOF to hold a massive fundraiser at Chasers on Thursday 9th January where all ticket and bar profits will go towards bushfire relief.
Bushrangers Basketball Victoria who are holding a fundraiser on Friday 10th January.
Pride Cup are donating 100% of their profits from the ales of their Pride merchandise over the next two weeks to the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund & the CFA Public Fund.
Hannah Mouncey is auctioning her shirt from her first match playing for Australia in 2012 to rain money for wildlife injured in the fire and the bushfire relief fund.
This weekend Sircuit and Mollies are holding an all weekend fundraiser, encouraging all who enter the venue to give however they can, with huge auctions thanks to generous sponsors.

Everyone is just doing what they can to help those in need however they can.

The fires and the loss and devastation are not over, and may take years to heal, so it’s only right we do what we can to help.

Ready for the inaugural Daylesford Pride Cup?

The Daylesford Football & Netball Club in partnership with the Chill Out Festival are proud to be hosting the inaugural Daylesford Pride Cup against Newlyn FNC, and spoke to Robbie & Dean from MAD Wednesday about what’s you can expect.

Calling Carson White from Daylesford, we found out all about the Pride Cup on Saturday 13th of July at Victoria Park, filled with family fun, public speaking, and two fantastic games of football and netball filled with pride.

Join the luncheon before the game with speakers AFLW Collingwood player and Australian Diamonds netball representative Ashleigh Brazill, Cameron Schwab, Richmond and Fremantle Football Clubs Lisa Laing.

Melbourne Chargers take to the field at AAMI Park

Melbourne’s inclusive rugby team the Melbourne Chargers, are taking to AAMI Park on Friday 14th June in a Curtain Raiser match for the Rebels vs. Chiefs Super Rugby hit out.

It’s the biggest game in the Rebels season and they have welcomed the Chargers to open this special game as Melbourne Chargers White take on Melbourne Chargers Black.

Chargers President Silas Palmer spoke to Robbie & Dean on MAD Wednesday ahead of this special event and told us about the special reception iplanned for the players to launch the Rugby Vic’s Ambassador program.

PUCK Homophobia at the Ice Hockey Pride Game

The Melbourne Mustangs and Amnesty International come together this weekend for their 3rd annual Pride Game, and this year there’s a special addition when Australia’s first (and only) LGBT Ice Hockey Team, The Southern Lights, join the mix.

Chloe from Amnesty International and Kade from Australian LGBT Ice Hockey & The Southern Lights joined Robbie & Dean for MAD Wednesday to talk about the upcoming game and what it means to be a part of creating a more inclusive space on the rink.

This Sunday the Melbourne Mustangs take on Adelaide Adrenaline with a pre game where the Southern Lights join the mix at O’Brien Icehouse at The Docklands.
