National Folk Festival special; Enda Kenny – Show #104 (part 2), 14 April 2019

Music

In the second hour of her National Folk Festival special, Katie welcomes Irish-Australian singer-songwriter Enda Kenny back to the show to chat about his just-released seventh independent album, Kitchen Ballads. Enda tells Katie why it’s taken so long to release the album and gives insight into two of the tracks: ‘Catch Me a Cloud’ (which he performs live in the studio) and the moving ‘Vigil’. The conversation also touches on supporting artists by buying their merch and checking out their websites, and what Enda is looking forward to seeing at the NFF. And Katie plays tracks by some other artists performing at this year’s festival and bids farewell to retiring JOY newsreader Keith Hunte. Here is the playlist:

  • Forever ’Till Monday – Rory McLeod
  • Walking Out – Lucy Wise
  • Catch Me a Cloud – Enda Kenny (live in the studio)
  • Time Traveller – Black Mountain String Band
  • Take Me to the Water – Irish Mythen
  • Vigil – Enda Kenny
  • Real Men Don’t Cry (War on Pride) – Fanny Lumsden
  • Buvons à la ronde – Mélisande

Visit Enda Kenny’s official website and check out his tour dates.
