Kicking off our new music off this week with one of the biggest recent success stories of Australian pop music. ‘Call on Me’, the 2016 debut single from Sydney-based singer-songwriter Starley, was a slow burner that eventually peaked at #8 in January this year and has been certified 2x platinum. Her follow-up single, ‘Touch Me’, is similar in style and will hopefully ignite radio in a similar fashion to its predecessor.

Aussie duo Peking Duk have teamed up with UK duo AlunaGeorge for the follow-up to their #1 3x platinum single, ‘Strangers’. The new single, ‘Fake Magic’, has bolted out of the gate and made it into the top 40 less than a week since its release.

Singaporean-based Tabitha Nauser is new to Sony music worldwide but the singer, who is of Indian-Swiss heritage, was a runner-up in Singapore Idol 2009. Representing Asia, she recorded the official theme song of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games alongside Sean Kingston (representing America), Jody Williams (Africa), Steve Appleton (Europe) and Jessica Mauboy (Oceania). Tabitha’s debut single, ‘Bulletproof’, has seen great success across Asia, debuting at #4 on the iTunes charts and climbing to #1 on Spotify’s Singapore top 50 viral chart in its first week.

Being the younger sister of Miley Cyrus could be tough, but 17-year-old Noah Cyrus has been carving out a niche of her own in the past few months, teasing us first with a collaboration with Labrinth, the gold-certified ‘Make Me (Cry)’. The latest single, ‘I’m Stuck’, from her forthcoming debut album NC-17, is a true country-pop crossover that will not fail to make you smile.

American singer-songwriter Andy Grammer has seen some strong results lately in the Australian charts with the #5 2x platinum single ‘Fresh Eyes’. Andy’s latest sees him team up with 2015 dual hit-maker (‘Bills’ and ‘Whip It’) Lunchmoney Lewis for ‘Give Love’. We think he’s onto another winner.

In possibly one of the biggest team-ups of the year, French DJ-producer David Guetta collaborates with Canadian singer-songwriter Justin Bieber, and ‘2U’ is an absolute smash-hit-in-waiting!

Set your alarm and tune into Michael on the Six at Six for the newest songs to the mix, every weekday at 6am Melbourne time.
