New music to weekdays (22 August 2018)

New music additions

Jess Glynne All I Am (ATL / WMA)
Paces ft Guy Sebastian Siren (etcetc)
Calvin Harris & Sam Smith Promises (SME)
Loud Luxury ft Brando Body (HUSSLE / UMA)
Martin Garrix ft Khalid Ocean (David Guetta Remix) (SME)
Panic! At the Disco High Hopes (ATL / WMA)

It’s time to pick up the pace with these additions to Melbourne’s most uplifting music mix.

English singer Jess Glynne is best known to Aussie audiences as a featured artist, thanks to Clean Bandit, Alex Newell and Rudimental. However, with the forthcoming release of her second album, Always In Between, her solo success is sure to rise. ‘All I Am’ is the second single from this album and is a celebration of friendship, love and all that is good in the world. Grab someone you love, check out the video and sing along. Jess doesn’t want to label her sexuality, but we’re willing to label her a star.

It’s a big welcome to MMUMM for Gold Coaster Mikey Perry, better known as Paces. The producer released his first album in 2016 after starting to make music in 2013. His new album, Zag, is due this week and he has dropped his collaboration with Guy Sebastian to celebrate. ‘Siren’ is perfectly suited to radio, with Guy’s powerful vocals perfectly intertwined with Paces’ moody electro production.

When a hot Scot meets a singing Brit, you get ‘Promises’. DJ-producer Calvin Harris takes Sam Smith‘s smooth vocals to create a bop designed to ease us into the warmth of spring. Although not credited, Canadian singer Jessie Reyez also lends her voice and songwriting ability to make this a hit. We reckon you’ll be bopping along.

Andrew Fedyk and Joe Depace are Canadian producer duo Loud Luxury. Now based in LA, they rose to fame after remixing Martin Garrix’s Scared to Be Lonely last year. Following on from this success, they teamed up with American singer Brando to deliver ‘Body’, which peaked at #4 on the Canadian chart and is now making its mark on streaming charts around the world. We think you’ll be wanting to turn the volume up, turn the lights down and move your body to this banger.

You’ve been asking for a couple of big tunes, so we thought we would deliver. David Guetta has remixed ‘Ocean’, giving Martin Garrix and Khalid‘s hit enough of a lift to fit perfectly into your workday. And American band Panic! At the Disco have changed since their debut in 2004, and now consist solely of pansexual singer Brendon Urie. ‘High Hopes’ is the second single from the latest album, and is roaring up the Aussie chart.
