If you want hits, you need to stay tuned to Melbourne’s most uplifting music mix.

Swedes Oliver Nelson and Tobtok have worked together again to create a brilliant banger in ‘Yellow’. Featuring the sweet vocals of English singer Liv Dawson, this one shines with a catchy chorus and a foot-tapping beat. We reckon it’s glorious and hope you think so too.

Local lass Thandi Phoenix caught our attention last year with her breakout hit My Way, and we’ve been waiting patiently for the next big bop from this South Africa-born singer-songwriter. Thankfully that time has come, as the Sydney-based artist teams up with British duo Sigma for ‘Say It’. Bringing UK garage, drum-and-bass and house feels together into a massive bop, this track will take you back to the mid-90s. Imagine warehouses, denim and a heap of lasers, and you’ll be right at home with this one.

It’s been a big 12 months for Amy Shark, winning four ARIA Awards and seeing her debut album Love Monster go gold. But why stop there? The latest single from the ARIA #1 album is Mess Her Up, given new life with a special arrangement by Serban Ghenea, who was responsible for Ari’s ‘thank u next’ and Mark Ronson’s ‘Nothing Breaks Like a Heart’. This is bound to be huge, and we think you’ll appreciate the difference it makes to what you hear in the mix.

On the topic of successful and very talented female singer-songwriters comes something new from a Kiwi. We were one of the first stations to play Robinson‘s debut track, ‘Nothing to Regret’, a year ago and she’s been spinning in the mix ever since. Her latest release, ‘Karma’, takes a peek into that feeling when someone breaks your heart and you wish nothing more than for them to get their just deserts. It’s a banger, and deserves a spirited singalong.

Separately, Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas have had varying degrees of success since they went their own ways in 2013. Nick has done well with his solo career, Joe found some success with DNCE and being on The Voice, and Kevin is, well, still Kevin. Since the Jonas Brothers split, we’ve been pining for their return. We wanted more pop-rock goodness. We wanted to see how important good genetics can be. And our prayers have been answered, with the brothers getting back together to release Sucker. If this is a taste of what’s to come, we’ll be more than pleased to be showered with Jonas lollipops to enjoy.

Falco van den Aker is Deepend, a Dutch DJ-producer. While still a duo, Deepend found international fame with a remix of Matt Simon’s ‘Catch and Release’ in 2015, and have since been big on the European house scene. Falco has enlisted the help of Norwegian singer Hanne Mjøen for his brand-new song, and after her debut, Sounds Good to Me, we’re mighty pleased to hear her once again. ‘One Thing Left to Do’ is a ball of bouncy goodness, destined to get stuck in your head. It’s the perfect fit for Melbourne’s most uplifting music mix.
