The Aussie music scene continues to be a hotbed of creativity, with a slew of artists producing music that’s worthy of widespread play and praise. One of the hottest local acts right now is Thandi Phoenix, who has just dropped another banger to add to her bag of musical gold. Following up her last single, Say It (with Sigma) is ‘Cleopatra’, which she describes as being about “knowing exactly what you bring to the table and never allowing someone to treat you less than you deserve”. This one glitters with electropop goodness and further cements the singer-songwriter’s position as queen of the future of Australian music.
Entirely completed before his death last year, ‘Heaven’ is the latest single to be released from Avicii‘s posthumous album Tim. It features the vocals of Coldplay’s Chris Martin and paints a picture of life beyond death. This one will be an eerie yet perfect Avicii hit.
Last year DJ-producer Sigala released his debut album, Brighter Days, after dropping tropical house hit after hit after hit. He returns with a slightly different sound in ‘Wish You Well’, with the help of fellow Brit Becky Hill. We reckon it’ll get you dancing.
Queensland foursome Sunset City are back with a song about spending time wisely. ‘Take My Hours’ is the third single from Parker, Rob, Matt and Brendan, after they debuted in 2018 as featured artists on Bombs Away’s single ‘Let You Down’. Their last release, with Samantha Jade, found a place on radios across the world, and hopefully this retro delight will do the same.
